Skills Required
• Proficiency in repairing and installing most common roof types (commercial and residential).
• Experience with and knowledge of different commercial roofing systems (TPO, PVC, BUR etc.)
and major suppliers (Garland, Tremco etc.).
• Ability to plan and manage multiple re-roofing projects at once, including safety and quality
control planning with a staff of 12+.
• Ability to actively manage subcontractor crews.
• Competence with traditional workplace technology (e.g., email, spreadsheets) and openness to
adopting new technology solutions for improved efficiency.
• Strong decision-making skills to ensure projects are completed safely, within budget, and with
100% customer satisfaction.
• Ability to coordinate projects out from sales stage through completion including auditing and
controlling material order lists, planning out manpower requirements, staging plans,
completing Job Hazard Analysis reports, and conducting pre-construction meetings with
customers, consultants, and any other required parties.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; must be fluent in English (spoken, written,
and reading). Spanish fluency not required but a plus.
• Ability to simultaneously manage last-minute schedule changes, shifting priorities, and
customer requests.
• Knowledge of labor budgets with the ability to manage them effectively.
• Capability to train new employees on basic roofing skills to develop them into skilled roofing
technicians.
• Ability to pull and manage permits as required by the project and jurisdiction.
• OSHA 30 certification (or ability to attain it).
• NRCA Foreman Pro-Certification (or ability to attain it).
