Position Overview: Millwork Recruiting Source is conducting a search on behalf of our client for an Estimator. In this role, you will be instrumental in the success of projects by accurately assessing the costs associated with customized solutions. Working closely with the sales, design, and project management teams, you will analyze project specifications, materials, labor requirements, and other relevant factors to prepare detailed cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sales, design, and project management teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and other project documents to identify materials, labor, and equipment needed.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of project scope, including site conditions, logistics, and potential challenges.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to accurately calculate material quantities, labor costs, and project timelines.
  • Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitiveness and reliability.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including detailed breakdowns of labor, materials, overhead, and profit margins.
  • Present estimates to clients and internal stakeholders, addressing any questions or concerns and providing clarification as needed.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings to ensure alignment on cost estimates and project objectives.
  • Monitor and track project costs throughout the lifecycle of each project, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new technologies to optimize cost estimation processes and enhance competitiveness.


  • Proven experience as an estimator in the millwork industry, with a strong understanding of architectural millwork and furniture manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating software and tools, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and interact professionally with clients and suppliers.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
