A renowned multinational corporation with a diverse portfolio of innovative products in the industrial sector is looking for new talent. As part of our strategic expansion plan, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Global Project Manager to lead the relocation of our Valve Division from Germany to McPherson, Kansas. This challenging position requires an individual with extensive expertise in manufacturing operations and a proven track record of successful project management. The ideal candidate should possess a PMP certification, showcasing their commitment to best practices in project management. The position will initially be remote, allowing the Project Manager to effectively coordinate the relocation, but will require full-time on-site presence in McPherson, Kansas, once the relocation is completed.
Responsibilities:
– Lead and execute the end-to-end relocation process of the Valve Division from Germany to McPherson, Kansas, ensuring a seamless transition while adhering to project timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, logistics, legal, finance, and human resources, to develop a comprehensive relocation strategy and plan.
– Conduct in-depth assessments of the current manufacturing operations in Germany to identify potential challenges, risks, and opportunities for process improvements during the relocation.
– Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule, identifying critical milestones and allocating resources appropriately to meet project objectives.
– Effectively communicate project updates, status reports, and risks to stakeholders at various levels of the organization, including senior management.
– Implement change management strategies to facilitate a smooth transition for employees impacted by the relocation.
– Uphold compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to the relocation process.
– Proactively address project roadblocks and issues, devising creative solutions to keep the project on track.
– Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and foster a collaborative work environment.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
– Extensive experience in project management, particularly in leading large-scale manufacturing operations relocation projects.
– PMP certification preferred, demonstrating a commitment to best practices in project management.
– Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
– Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
– Demonstrated proficiency in risk management and problem-solving, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
– Flexibility to work in a remote capacity during the planning phase and the ability to relocate to McPherson, Kansas, once the project requires on-site presence.
– Knowledge of the valve industry or similar industrial equipment is advantageous.
