HR Generalist – Manufacturing | East of Des Moines

A well-established and rapidly growing manufacturing facility east of Des Moines is looking for an HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations. This facility specializes in large, engineered-to-order components for the renewable energy industry, including fabrication, welding, assembly, and industrial painting.
Reporting to a highly respected HR Manager, this position plays a key role in onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, policy support, and driving a positive workplace culture. The environment is fast-paced, people-focused, and rooted in continuous improvement.
Note: Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a primary point of contact for HR questions from employees and managers.

Support onboarding, new hire orientation, and training efforts.

Help administer benefits, leave tracking (FMLA, Workers’ Comp), and performance processes.

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with HR policies and legal requirements.

Participate in employee engagement and retention initiatives.

Assist in investigations, reporting, and unemployment hearings as needed.

Ensure on-site HR coverage until at least 7:00 PM one day per week.
What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent HR experience (3+ years preferred).

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS systems (UltiPro a plus).

Bilingual in Spanish is helpful, but not required.
