Our client is a $400M market leading durable goods manufacturing company located in southwest Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan. Over the last 5 years, candidates who interview with this company have been impressed and interested in joining the company.
As their business continues to grow, their need for talent also evolves. They are currently searching for a full time direct hire Manufacturing Accountant to join their finance team.
In this role, you will:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Complete full-cycle accounting activities, including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, etc.
- Prepare month-end financial reports including the Comparative Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, and other related specialized reports based on management needs.
- Maintain the centralized fixed asset sub-ledger.
- Drive the capital expenditure process from implementation to recording and reconciliation.
- Perform account reconciliations for all significant balance sheet accounts.
- Special projects may include leading accounting platform conversions, accounting records cleanup, or tax to GAAP basis conversions.
- Assist with annual and state audit preparations.
- Analyzing current accounting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Support the capital expenditure process from justification through implementation.
- Serve as a business partner to plant operations management, supply chain, sales, and engineering.
- Assist in the completion or review of accounts payable transactions as needed.
- Learn, stabilize, and improve processes utilizing the ERP system and Microsoft Office tools.
Initially, the role will be onsite and, over time, can evolve into a hybrid role. If that were to happen, the Accountant would work 3 days per week in the office with 2 days at home.
