Our manufacturing client near Eugene, Oregon is seeking a Manufacturing & Process Engineer to take the lead on process optimization, tooling and fixture development, and hands-on support for capital improvements. This is a visible, plant-facing role where your ideas and implementation will directly improve equipment uptime, standard work, and production efficiency.
They manufacture a wide variety of safety and utility products used in construction, industrial settings, airports, and public spaces—not just traffic-specific gear. The production environment includes compression molding, rubber material processing, and light mechanical assembly.
What you’ll do:
You’ll spend ~40% of your time on the floor solving real-world problems—troubleshooting equipment, refining tooling, improving operator workflow, and running test samples. The rest of the time will focus on standardizing processes, driving capital upgrades, supporting new product launches, and working cross-functionally with maintenance and engineering.
Key Focus Areas:

Design and implement process improvements to increase output and improve safety

Develop standard work and reduce variability in raw materials and finished product

Lead validation of new molds and collaborate on capital equipment upgrades

Serve as SME for compression molding using crumb rubber and liquid binders

Design jigs and fixtures for improved post-production efficiency

Analyze production data and identify improvement targets

Develop working knowledge of PLC systems and controls

Partner with vendors, oversee budgets, and manage technical projects from start to finish
Preferred Experience:

SolidWorks or similar CAD tools (required)

PLC troubleshooting or programming experience a strong plus

Familiarity with pumps, hydraulics, and compressed air systems

Comfortable using Excel and PowerPoint for data review and presentations

Field engineering or equipment installation background helpful

Experience working with material handling systems preferred
