Proficiency in MS Office – Excel, Power Point, Word
- Must have the ability to handle complex problems, make sound decisions and work independently under the pressure of a heavy workload with significant time restrictions
- Good understanding of the manufacturing process (from raw materials to finished goods), sound accounting principals, inventory control and document flow of import goods
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong working relationships
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to inform at all levels of the organization
Commodity Purchasing Experience
Responsibilities
- The Senior Buyer manages assigned items by generating, adjusting and expediting purchase orders based on MRP to insure timely delivery to meet customer expectations
- Proactively analyzes and interprets information for planning systems and determines if process is in control
- Makes day-to-day decisions that demonstrate a basic understanding of the financial business drivers
- Works closely with Purchasing Manager to develop and implement department procedures and guidelines, processes and process improvements
- Ability to quickly and accurately generate action requirements based on Planning System outputs
- Lead or function as a team member on cross-functional teams to develop and execute new product
- Tracks and monitors purchase orders, keeping team informed of any problems/delays and advertises any impact/constraints to the core team
- Update daily Sales Orders Dates
- Process DMR (rejects) by dispositioning material and coordinate with Accounting the issuance of debit memos to suppliers
- Execute Engineering change notices
- Utilizing Epicor Buyer’s Workbench follow up and confirm PO’s on a daily basis
- Achieves key purchasing metrics (Past Due PO; Unconfirmed PO; Excess Inventory; Non Stock Inventory; Stock Outs)
Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, or Supply Chain Management preferred, five to seven years related experience or significant related experience.
• Certification preferredeither APICS or ISM.
• Proficiency in MS Office – Excel, Power Point, Word
Experience in ERP/MRP environment; Epicor software a plus.
