Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Controller to join our client’s team. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Senior Controller will play a pivotal role in driving the financial success of our $30-60M client, reflecting the strategic importance of this position within that organization.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives, ensuring financial stability and sustainability.
- Accounting Expertise: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Interpersonal Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Work closely with other departments to align financial goals with overall company objectives.
- Risk Management: Implement effective risk management policies and procedures, identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks.
- Financial Analysis: Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to the executive team, enabling strategic decision-making and maximizing profitability.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the finance department and various stakeholders, including company leadership. Maintain clear and transparent communication channels.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements within the finance department, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/MBA helpful but not required.
- Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Controller or in a similar executive finance role within the construction or specialty contracting industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
- Must have significant % of completion experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align financial goals with overall business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools including new ERP system implementations
