Are you passionate about turning blueprints, sketches, and CAD/CAM files into meticulously crafted precision tools and dies? We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Precision Tool & Die Machinist to join our exceptional team. As a key contributor, you will operate CNC equipment, including 5-axis machining, and use your expertise to compute, verify, and maintain exact dimensions, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and outside vendors, ensuring the production of top-notch tools and dies that meet and exceed specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Translate information from blueprints, sketches, and CAD/CAM files to meticulously produce precision tools and dies.

– CNC Operation: Set up, operate, and program CNC machines, including 5-axis machining, to ensure accurate and efficient manufacturing.

– Quality Assurance: Perform thorough quality checks on completed tools and dies, ensuring they meet and exceed specifications.

– Collaboration: Work cooperatively with various Viega departments and outside vendors to facilitate smooth production processes and problem-solving.

– File, grind, adjust, smooth, and polish parts to ensure perfect fit and finish.

Skills/Requirements:

– Education and Experience: High-School Diploma or Equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of experience in precision machining.

– CNC Expertise: Proficient in programming and operating CNC equipment, including 5-axis machining.

– Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD/CAM drawings, translating them into precise manufacturing processes.

– Design Ingenuity: Exhibit creative problem-solving skills to fixture and design methods for manufacturing complex parts.

– Multitasking Skills: Capable of managing multiple projects and assignments simultaneously while prioritizing tasks effectively.

– Independent Decision Making: Work independently and confidently make competent decisions to ensure efficient production.

– Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and colleagues.
