Our client is known for its high-quality products and services in the overhead material handling equipment industry. With over 45 years of industry experience, they are searching for a Welder within their Merrillville, IN Facility.

Job Description for a Mig Welder

  1. Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding materials and equipment for the job.
  2. Follow blueprints, sketches, or work orders to determine specifications and welding requirements.
  3. Position and secure metal components using clamps, fixtures, or other holding devices.
  4. Ensure that the welding equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  5. Operate MIG welding equipment to join metal parts together, following specific welding techniques and safety procedures.
  6. Monitor and adjust welding parameters (such as voltage, current, and wire feed speed) to ensure the quality and integrity of the weld.
  7. Inspect welded joints to identify defects or discontinuities and make necessary repairs or adjustments.

Job Experience for a Mig Welder:


  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Successful completion of a welding training program or certification is preferred, but not required.
  3. Basic understanding of welding techniques and processes, specifically in MIG welding.
  4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or work orders.
  5. Proficient in using welding equipment and tools.
  6. Knowledge of welding safety procedures and practices.
  7. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
  8. Clean driving record due to some jobs are off site
