Job Description for a Mig Welder
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding materials and equipment for the job.
- Follow blueprints, sketches, or work orders to determine specifications and welding requirements.
- Position and secure metal components using clamps, fixtures, or other holding devices.
- Ensure that the welding equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Operate MIG welding equipment to join metal parts together, following specific welding techniques and safety procedures.
- Monitor and adjust welding parameters (such as voltage, current, and wire feed speed) to ensure the quality and integrity of the weld.
- Inspect welded joints to identify defects or discontinuities and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
Job Experience for a Mig Welder:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a welding training program or certification is preferred, but not required.
- Basic understanding of welding techniques and processes, specifically in MIG welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or work orders.
- Proficient in using welding equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of welding safety procedures and practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
- Clean driving record due to some jobs are off site
